Yogurt Tahina Sauce

Looking for a sauce, to go with some of your grilled protein or grilled veggies, that isn't processed and loaded with fat? This is a super easy one that's protein-based itself and goes great with a lot of recipes, including those mediterranean dishes (checkout our Chicken Kabobs recipe - this is killer with that!). Now we know some of you see small amounts of garlic cloves in recipes and want to double that amount for the love of garlic, but try not to do that here. It's just the perfect amount! Increase the water for your own consistency preference. This amount keeps it on the thicker side.

Macronutrient Balance: 4g Protein / 5g Fat / 2g Carbohydrates - this makes approx. 6 (2 Tbsp) servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup 2% plain greek yogurt

  • 2 Tbsp tahina paste (this is just the sesame paste, not a prepared sauce)

  • 1 Tbsp water

  • 1/2 tsp cumin

  • 1/2 garlic clove minced

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix together.

  2. Serve with some roasted or grilled veggies and protein. Enjoy!
