Why buy expensive nut butters when you can make them at home. Here's one super simple recipe for a delicious pecan butter! It does require one kitchen item that's going to make it easy - a food processor. Roasting the pecans in the oven gives it a nice nutty flavor that you don't want to skip out on. Serve this as a topping on our protein pancakes or just serve it up with an apple for a sweet, healthy snack!
Macronutrient Balance: 2g Protein / 11g Fat / 2g Carbohydrates - this makes approximately 16 servings (2 Tbsp each) Ingredients:
16 oz raw pecan
1 tsp salt
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Spread pecans on a baking sheet/cookie sheet and place in oven for 10 minutes.
Let pecans cool for 5 minutes and then place in a food processor and blend for 2 minutes (depending on your food processor you made need to blend for longer) until you get a nice creamy or desired consistency. Open lid and add 1 tsp salt and blend for an additional 15 seconds.
Pour into a jar/container and place in the fridge for up to one week.
