This is a great recipe all year round, especially around holiday seasons when you're looking for healthier side dishes to go along with Thanksgiving Turkey or Ham or that December Prime Rib or Roast. A starchier side option, it serves up a good bit of carbs so keep on balancing it with protein and fat options per your own plan.
Macronutrient Balance: 3g Protein / 4g Fat / 24 g Carbohydrates - this makes 6 servings (approx 4.3 oz each)
Ingredients:
3 pounds sweet potatoes
2 Tbsp butter
1/3 cup whole milk
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Bake sweet potatoes for approximately 45 minutes until done.
Remove from oven and let cool before removing the skin.
In a mixing bowl, mash sweet potatoes and add remaining ingredients.
Serve warm!
